Mr. Orval Ralph Stafford Sr., 78, died at 7:38 A.M. on Monday.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday in the Dewey Church of Christ. Interment will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday in the Williams Timberhill Cemetery near Welch, Oklahoma, directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Stumpff Funeral Home.

A memorial has been established and those who wish to make a contribution in memory of Mr. Stafford may do so to: Fair Heaven Children's Home 3132 N. Fair Heaven Loop, Stratford, Missouri 65757.

Mr. Orval Ralph Stafford Sr. was born May 4, 1934 at Bluejacket, Oklahoma to Jesse Herbert and Myrtle Lee (Jones) Stafford. He grew up in rural Bluejacket, Oklahoma and attended High School at Afton, Oklahoma graduating in 1952.

Orval was employed with National Life Insurance Company in Coffeyville and Independence, Kansas as Staff Manager. He moved to Dewey, Oklahoma in 1968 and Bartlesville in 1973 when he became an Independent Insurance Agent with Shelter Insurance. Orval retired in 1987 due to ill health. He was a member of the Dewey church of Christ for many years, and a member of the Washington County Adult Center Wood Carvers.

Survivors include; his wife Bobbie Carolyn Stafford to the family home in Bartlesville; one son Orval Ralph Stafford Jr. and his wife Vicki of Dewey, Oklahoma; one daughter Beverly Contreras and her husband Paul of Bartlesville; one sister Lora Belle Hunt of Vinita, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Orval was preceded in death by his parents, one son Robert Duane Stafford; one great-grandson Zacheri Ryan Stafford and one great-granddaughter Izabella Elizabeth Stafford.
