Andrew James Toomey, 79, resident of Bartlesville, died Friday July 6th in Tulsa.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday at the Walker Cemetery near Welch, Oklahoma with Rev. Michael Vallandingham of the Eastern Heights Baptist Church officiating. The Toomey family will receive friends Thursday evening at the Stumpff Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Toomey's memory to the Washington County SPCA 16620 State Highway # 123 Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74003.

Mr. Toomey was born November 17, 1932 at Chicago, Illinois to Andrew James and Florence Catherine (Pattermann) Toomey. He moved to California as a young boy with his family where he was raised and received his education. He served in the United States Navy in 1951 and served until 1959. Following his Honorable discharge from the service he attended Long Beach State College in California where he graduated with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering. He was married to Joan Britton on June 30, 1973, at Long Beach California. They made their home in California for a short time, moving to Bartlesville in 1974, where he began his employment with Phillips Petroleum Company as an Electrical Engineer, where he worked for 20 years retiring in 1994. His hobbies included traveling and spending time with his family.

Mr. Toomey is survived by his wife Mrs. Joan J. Toomey of the home, by seven sons; Steve Toomey of California, Chuck Bennett and his wife Jana of Bartlesville, Jeff Toomey of Bartlesville, Brian Bennett and his wife Donita of League City, Texas, Larry Toomey and his wife Carin of California, John Britton of Tulsa, and Pat Toomey and his wife Tracey of California; and by one brother Mike Toomey of California, by 12 Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and by one sister; Patricia Toomey.

Funeral Services and interment were under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory of Bartlesville.
