Mrs. Rachel M. Thompson, 89, lifelong resident of northeast Oklahoma, died today at her home, 715 W. Seventh Place, after an illness of two and a half weeks.

Mrs. Thompson, a part-Cherokee Indian, was born in Stilwell and had resided in Tulsa since 1942. She and her husband, the late Joseph C. Thompson, operated a general mercantile store in the old town of Row, Delaware County, during pioneer days.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ella Carnes; three sons, Joseph C., Vinita; W. C., Cleoria, and Andy J., Hominy; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Petty, Detroit, Mich., seven grand-children and seven great-grand-children.
