Edna Leona (Cooper) Hutcheson
June 29, 1943 ~ February 1, 2025

Edna Leona (Cooper) Hutcheson, 81-year-old Ketchum area resident, passed away early Saturday, February 1, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 29, 1943, in Jane, Missouri to John Kenneth Cooper and Pansy Esteleen (Holland) Cooper. Edna graduated from White Rock School (McDonald County), Missouri. She was united in marriage to Louis Arthur Hutcheson on September 2, 1968, in Bentonville, Arkansas. Edna worked as a cook for Jane and Ketchum Public Schools, she owned and operated a daycare center and had a bait shop in Ketchum. She also worked for Fountain House Group Home in Vinita, Ketchum Senior Center, and the Craig County Sheriff’s office. She served on Ketchum’s City Council and on their Public Works Authority. Edna enjoyed playing bunko, going camping, arts and crafts, gardening, flowers, and loved being with her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and just taking care of people and cooking.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Louis Authur Hutcheson, daughter, Sherry Mills, grandson, Kody Greene, siblings, Arlis Wayne Cooper, Patsy Coberly, and June Shinn.

The family includes her children, Judy Greene and husband Kenneth of Seligman, MO, Tammy Long and husband Robert of Grand Lake Towne, Lanie Allen and husband Richard of Ketchum, Julie Oakes and husband Chance of Foyil, Patrick Hutcheson and wife Jan of Langley, Jason Hutcheson and fiancée Jennifer of Ketchum, twenty-nine grandchildren, forty-nine great grandchildren, and twenty great great grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday February 7, 2025, at the Church on the Lake east of Ketchum.

The celebration of life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the Church on the Lake east of Ketchum, Pastor Justin Turner will officiate. Interment will follow at the Ketchum Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.highsmithfh.com or on the funeral home Facebook page. Arrangements are in the care of the Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Services of Vinita. “Vinita’s only locally owned and operated funeral home.”
