Lillie Fern (Colvin)McKinney
March 27 1926 - January 22, 2014
Lillie Fern McKinney, 87 year old Vinita resident, died Wednesday January 22, 2014 at the Heartsworth Nursing Center. She was born on March 27, 1926 in Big Cabin, to George L. and Coral Etta (Whisler) Colvin. Lillie had lived in Vinita for many years, she was owner/operator of Mckinney's Garage and McKinney's Texaco, along with her former husband. Later she moved to Bartlesville where she was employed by Lester's Boutique and Dillard's Department Store, where she was an outstanding sales person and member of the Pacesetter Club. Lillie enjoyed gardening, flowers and vegetables, and just working the dirt, she also enjoyed bowling, dancing and crocheting.
Lillie was preceded in death by six siblings, and her parents.
The family includes; her children, Phyllis DeWitt and husband Tom of Claremore, Donna Gunning and husband Kenneth of Langley, Teresa Cleland and husband Rusty of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters, Goldie Brown of Adair, Lois Ingram of Inola; four grandchildren, Gena Lankford, Kerry Page, Sheila Curley, Rachel Fritz; eight great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The funeral will be held Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Luginbul Funeral Home Chapel in Vinita. Interment will follow at the Big Cabin Cemetery in Big Cabin. Friends may give to the Heartsworth Activity Fund, 1200 W Canadian, Vinita, OK 74301. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita.
