STELLA ALICE WHITE
Services: Wed., Feb. 18, 2 p.m.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at Arvin Funeral Home Chapel, for Stella Alice White who passed away February 13, 2004. Pastor Mark McGinty of Calvary Baptist Church will officiate the service and interment will follow at South Kern Cemetery District, Arvin.
Stella Alice Paton was born August 2, 1918, in Ahpeatone, Oklahoma, to Donald and Della Paton. She attended local schools. She met Bob White the love of her life. The couple married on May 15, 1937, in Temple, Oklahoma. She moved to San Diego in 1940, later she came to the city of Arvin in 1944 and raised her family in the community of Arvin. Stella enjoyed gardening, crocheting, fishing, playing dominos, and also liked to read. She worked as an Aide for Haven Dr. School for over 20 years and enjoyed her job but mostly she enjoyed the children. She also liked to ride her bicycle to work most of the time. Stel la was a true homemaker. She loved her family and her home. She made lifelong friends in Arvin. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Arvin and enjoyed being the Sunday Teacher for many years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
The family would like to give special Thanks to Dr. Abhay Risbud and his wonderful staff for taking such care of our Mom, also Thanks to Adriane and Tammy at Optimal Hospice.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, and her sister, Donna Kidd. She is survived by her son, Robert Dale and his wife, Sue White of Willows, CA; her daughter, Darlene and her husband, Dennis Mitchell of Bakersfield, CA; her sisters, Emaline Chaney of Lawton, OK, LaVena Parrish of Walters, OK; her sister-in-law, Mary Hall of Bakersfield, CA; five grandchildren, Kenny, Jimmy, Sparky, Dennise and Derick; four great grandchildren, Robert, Jessica, Colton and Cody and many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Mom's church, Arvin Calvary Baptist Church, 401 Franklin St., Arvin, CA 93203 or to your favorite charity.
Visitation was held Tuesday, February 17, 2004, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
