Edna Jo (Otis) Campbell

August 28, 1920 - April 28, 2018

Funeral service for former Lawton resident, Edna Jo Campbell, 97, of Duncan will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018, at Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Southerland, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church West, officiating. Burial will be in the Walters Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.
Mrs. Campbell passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018, in Duncan, Oklahoma.
Edna Jo was born on August 28, 1920, in Walters to Kenneth E. and Marie (Duncan) Otis. She grew up in Walters and graduated from high school in 1936. She married Captain William Arthur Reynolds on October 5, 1940. William served as a pilot in World War II and lost his life on November 2, 1944, in an air raid over Germany. She married Walter H. Campbell on February 16, 1955. Walter passed away on April 30, 1988. Edna Jo was a member of the First Christian Church for many years where she taught vacation bible school and the beginners Sunday school. She was employed as a bookkeeper for the Coker John Deere Company, also worked at Lone Star Gas Company, and later at Cotton Electric. She also served as secretary for President Clarence Davis and President Richard Birch at Cameron Junior College and was a Deputy for Stanley Sasser at the Comanche County Assessor’s office, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Club, Beta Sigma Epsilon Chapter, and the Sooner Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Artie Jo and Jim Stauffer, of Duncan; two grandchildren, Art Stauffer and wife Amy, of Durant, and Tammy Lynn Lord and husband, Paul, of Houston, Texas; two great grandchildren, Regan Stauffer and Cailian Stauffer; her niece and nephew and their spouses, Sue and Dan Wigington, of Lawton, and Jerry and Kay Otis, of Virginia; numerous great nieces and great nephews; and her daughter’s beloved dogs, Amber and Molly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband whom she dearly loved, Captain William Arthur Reynolds; her husband, Walter H. Campbell; her brother, Kenny E. Otis and his wife Doris; and her dear friend and companion of 22 years, Bill Cofer.
The family wishes to thank the following organizations, Chisholm Trail Hospice, The Visiting Angels of Lawton, Bethel Church, New Hope Baptist Church West, and all of our friends and neighbors for their love and support.
