© Whinery Huddleston Funeral Service Lawton, Oklahoma February 23, 2010 Floyd Herbert Kimbro Floyd H. Kimbro was born on June 28, 1932 in Bradley, Oklahoma to Frank and Flora [McDaniel] Kimbro. He died on February 23, 2010 in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 77. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 1, 2010 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Lawton with Pastor Steve Mallow, officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, February 28 from 1:00-4:00 PM at Whinery Huddleston Funeral Home with the family in attendance from 2:00-4:00 PM. Mr. Kimbro was raised and attended school in Cox City, Oklahoma. He joined the Army after graduation and served in Korea until the end of the war. He returned to Cox City after his discharge and worked for Curt’s Oil Company as a driver. He married Lola Trusty in Cox City on June 12, 1958 and moved to Lawton where he was employed by Fairmont Foods as a truck driver until 1979. He then went to work for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation from 1979 and remained until his retirement in 1994. Mr. Kimbro enjoyed fishing, watching baseball, was a fan of any type of auto racing. He loved his family and spent many years watching his sons and grandchildren participate in sports. Floyd and Lola have been members of Immanuel Baptist Church in Lawton since 1974. Mr. Kimbro was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Lacy Kimbro; 4 brothers, 3 sisters, his mother-in-law and his father-in-law. Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, James Kimbro and his wife JoAnne and Jerry Kimbro and his wife Kathy; grandchildren, Stefanie Martin and her husband Jacob, Eric Kimbro and his wife Darcie, Craig Kimbro and his wife Darlene and Kiley Kimbro, and one great granddaughter, Brianni Kimbro, all of Lawton; three brothers, Ferman Kimbro and his wife Phyllis of Ryan, OK, Frank Kimbro Jr. and his wife Michelle of Oklahoma City, and Wayne Kimbro and his wife Arnell of Red Oak, TX; two sisters, Flonnie Shannon and her husband Clinton of Central High, OK and Florene Wilkerson and her husband Melvin of Ft. Cobb Lake, OK; one brother-in-law Dee Gamble of Tishomingo, OK, and many nieces and nephews. |
© Whinery Huddleston Funeral Service Lawton, Oklahoma November 27, 2010 Lola Mae [Trusty] Kimbro Lola Mae Kimbro was born on April 29, 1933 in Ninnekah, Oklahoma to John and Opal [Maner] Trusty. She died on November 27, 2010 in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 77. Services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Lawton, with Pastor Steve Mallow, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Viewing with a reception will be at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Lola was raised and attended school in Cox City, OK. She married Floyd Kimbro on June 12, 1958 in Cox City and moved to Lawton in 1959. Lola worked as a clerk at Wrights Donuts for many years, retiring in 1993. She was an avid Houston Astros fan, and enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in any type of sport. Lola was devoted to her family and church, working many years with day care at Immanuel Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd in February of this year, and granddaughter, Lacy Kimbro. Survivors include 2 sons, James Kimbro and wife Joanne, and Jerry Kimbro and wife Kathy, all of Lawton; 4 grandchildren, Stefanie Martin and husband Jacob of Pensacola, FL, Eric Kimbro and wife Darcie, Craig Kimbro and wife Darlene, and Kiley Kimbro, all of Lawton; great granddaughter Brianni Kimbro of Lawton; brothers, Emmitt Trusty of Chickasha, Eugene Trusty and wife Yvela of Bray, Kenneth Trusty and wife Frances of Marlow, and Troy Trusty and wife Mary Helen of Rush Springs; 2 sisters, Illa Faye Stewart and husband Bud of Rush Springs, and Shirley Sweat and husband James of Marlow; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. |
