Colt Allen Cowin

Colt Allen Cowin, of Sterling, died on Saturday, 20 August 2005 in a Lawton hospital.

His funeral services will be on Wednesday, 24 August 2005 at 1:30 PM in the Elgin High School Fine Arts Center, Elgin, OK with Rev. Paul Lutz of the Pool Arena Cowboy Church and Lance Smith of Sterling, officiating.

Burial will be in the Sterling Cemetery, Sterling, OK, under direction of Hodge Funeral Homes of Elgin and Fletcher.

Colt was born on 14 August 1985 in Lawton, son of Boots and Teresa [Crabtree] Cowin.

He went to Sterling Public Schools from Kindergarten until he graduated in 2004.

He was an electrician apprentice at Lyle Williams Electric.

Colt was a cowboy in the rodeo and was a member of U.S.T.R.C.A., O.T.R.A., and a long-member of M.R.C.A. roping associations. He loved sports: black powder and rifle seasons, mad bow hunting and fishing. He also loved going to the lake.

Surviving Colt are his parents of the home, a brother and sister-in-law, Justin and Amanda Cowin of Sterling, 3 grandmothers; Nell Crabtree of Cache, Mary Dee Cowin of OKC and Jo Cowin of Lawton. 3 uncles; Joe Cowin and his wife, Donna of OKC, Jack Crabtree and his wife, Teresa of Elgin and Clayton Hale of Sterling, Aunt Kelly Hale of Elgin, 4 cousins; Cody Crabtree, Kelsey and Chizum Hale, all of Elgin and Karie Moorehead and her husband, Brian and their children, Austin and Ashlyn of Cyril and his 'sweetheart" Casey Caldwell of Cache and many, many friends.

Colt's grandfathers, Marvin Crabtree and Zane Cowin, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be Tuesday, 23 August 2005, 9:00 a.m. ~ 8:00 p.m. at the Hodge Funeral Home in Elgin. The family will receive friends there from 6:00 p.m. ~ 8:00 p.m.
