Helen [Milow] Davis

Death date: November 2, 2013

Helen D. Davis was born on January 15, 1934 in Littlefield, TX to Vernon and Ora Lee [Emmerson] Milow. She died on November 2, 2013 in Lawton, OK at the age of 79.

Ms. Davis was raised and attended school in Post, TX.

She moved to Lawton in 1962 and was employed in housekeeping at the Lawtonian until 1966 when she married Otis Davis.

Helen spent the next 14 years as a full time housewife and mother raising her 4 children.

She started driving a cab in 1980, and in 1984 she opened the Green Door Restaurant which she operated for 2 years in addition to driving her cab.

Helen retired in 2004 due to health issues.

She has been an active and dedicated Jehovah's Witness since 1993, and only after poor health kept her at home did she stop attending meetings.

Helen enjoyed being an active and important part of her grandchildren's lives and was especially important in their upbringing.

She enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish, and made dynamite BBQ. Helen coached softball in her early years, and more recently enjoyed watching The Price Is Right and eating an occasional Whataburger.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Lester Charles Holder; one sister, Clair Rita Moore, and a brother, James Milow.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Johnson and her husband Albert of Henderson, NV; 3 sons, Leonard Holder and his companion Crystal Nuncio of Lawton, Cornet Holder of Dallas, and Reginald Moore and wife Gloria of Tahoka, TX. Helen is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and several special friends and family members who were always willing to help her with her needs once her health prevented her from driving.

Visitation:
12:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service 6210 NW Cache Road Lawton Oklahoma 73505. Visitation also 11/8/2013 from 10:00am to 8:00pm at the funeral home.

Service:
1:00 pm on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Whinery-Huddleston Chapel 6210 NW Cache Road Lawton Oklahoma 73505.
