Linda Louise Hatley Carson

Funeral for Linda Louise Carson, 62, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Whinery-Huddleston Chapel.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery

She died Wednesday morning, Sept. 18, 2013, in a local nursing home surrounded by her family.

Linda was born Sept. 14, 1951, in Muskegon, Mich., to Dillard and Wilma Lee Lankford Hatley. She moved to Texas with her family when she was 2. She grew up in Boyd, Texas, where she attended the local public schools. She was a waitress at cafes in the Boyd area. She later became a home care provider in Oklahoma. In 1970, she met Earl Carson in Altus, and she married Earl in 1976, in Vernon, Texas. They were married for 37 years. She was a wonderful cook; she would always have plenty on the table for family and friends. She also had a loving heart; she would never turn anyone down, even a complete stranger. She had many friends including her Jack Russell, Pal, and Pit Bull, Little Girl.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Wilma Lee Lankford.

She is survived by her husband, Earl Carson, of the home; three sons: Dillard Lee York, of Lawton; and Adam York, and Elvin York, both of Edmond; two daughters: Christy Simpson, of Elk City; and Melissa York, of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren: Brandon York, of Boley; Terrica Jones, of Houston; and Tyson Simpson, of Woodward; five brothers: David Hatley, and Alvin Hatley, both of Boyd, Texas; Dillard Hatley, of Azle, Texas; and Michael Hatley and his wife Missy, and Robert Hatley and his wife Martha, all of Boyd, Texas; four sisters: Judy Greer, of Decatur, Texas; and Nancy Hays, Mellisa Hays and Raymond, and Anita Hays, all of Boyd. She has many loving and caring family members, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
