Philip Schuler

CWO Philip E Schuler, 67, was born February 17, 1946 in Indianapolis, IN to Paul and Hildreth [Howry] Schuler.

He died January 8, 2014 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City with his family at his side.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 5-7pm. Services will be Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Whinery-Huddleston Chapel. Burial will be with Full Military Honors at Post Cemetery under direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service.

Philip was born and raised in Indiana.

After graduating from Westchester High School he enlisted in the army and worked as a LANCE Missile Systems Technician. He was stationed in many overseas and stateside assignments. His awards include the Army Commendation Medal with Second Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He retired in 1989 at Fort Sill as a CWO2 officer, after serving over 20 years in the army.

He met and married Cynthia Hurd in Lawton in 1989.

Philip enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, camping, traveling and doing anything outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Hildreth; and an infant son, Jessie Schuler.

Survivors include his wife of twenty-four years, Cynthia, of the home; daughter, Tiffany and husband, Blake, of Houston, TX; step-daughter, Camitra and partner, Jimmy, of Lawton; step-son, Daneil and wife, Maryl of Lawton; brother, Dick and wife, Marty of Modesto, CA; grandchildren: Wyatt, Emma Rose, Jakitra, Jathan, T'Jharrah, Cindraya and Avianna. He also has numerous aunts, uncles, extended family members and friends.

5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service 6210 NW Cache Road Lawton Oklahoma 73505

11:00 am on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Whinery-Huddleston Chapel 6210 NW Cache Road Lawton Oklahoma 73505
