Wynola J. Taylor

January 31, 1928 - May 14, 2018

Wynola J. Taylor of Lawton, Oklahoma died on May 14, 2018 at Duncan Regional Hospital with family by her side.
She was born to the late James and Delsie Morrison on January 31, 1928, in Indiahoma, Oklahoma. Her father worked on the Frisco Railroad while her mother was a housewife who loved to cook and care for their children. Wynola was the third oldest of seven sibilings. The surviving sibling is her sister Delores Dye, Lakewood, California.
Wynola married Martin H. Taylor in 1943. Martin served in World Ward II, Korea, and retired as a Master Sergeant (Army). They had three children, Sue, James and Michael.
Wynola lost her husband in 1996 due to cancer; her son, Michael Taylor, in November 2001, her son James Taylor in December 2001 and her daughter Sue Wolf in 2009.
She has six grandchildren: Keith Wolf, Natalie Wolf, Randy Taylor, Mitch Taylor, Jason Taylor and Logan Taylor and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was also blessed by a caring friend and neighbor of 35 years, Kathy and Dennis Meyer.
Wynola lived at home until 2016 and then moved to Brookridge Assisted Living in Lawton, Oklahoma. There she met many friends and enjoyed their activities. In 2018, she moved to Gregston's, Marlow, Oklahoma.
As a military spouse, Wynola enjoyed many clubs and activities, including the Military Widows, and the Does (Elks). She was the "Doe of the Year" twice.
She enjoyed sewing, bowling and playing bingo and became a bingo caller. She was also well-known for her baking and cooking. Her home-made brownies with her own icing recipe were a favorite among her bingo friends. She also learned many recipes from the various military bases where they were stationed, including Taiwan.
Wynola was a strong, one-of-kind lady. When asked "How did you do it? Losing your immediate family." She replied, "You just blunder through life like I did." Wynola didn't blunder. She was warm and caring and loved being around people who in turn loved her. We will miss Wynola with her strength and caring soul.
