Myrtle Marie Matthews

February 27, 1927 - January 26, 2019

Mrs. Marie Matthews, age 91, of Lawton passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 in Ada, Oklahoma.
Marie was born on February 27, 1927 in Cache, Oklahoma to Marvin and Myrtle Terry. She grew up in Cache moving briefly to Oregon, then returning to Cache. She married John Matthews on August 13, 1965. She was a homemaker who served on the PTA for Garfield Elementary, worked with the JOM program, was an assistant sponsor for the Tomlinson Junior High Native American club where she helped with many bake sales and fund raisers to help pay for trips that the members of the club go on trips.
She is survived by her son Terry Bowden of Florida; Tina Walker and husband Ronald Walker of Ada OK; daughter Tiffany Matthews of Lawton. Grandchildren Mark Bowden, Heather Matthews, Nicholas Price, Taylor Medrano, Kaytlyn Lewis, and Stephen Medrano. Great grandchildren Samantha and Anthony Riss; Xavier Northern. She was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Myrtle Terry Cache OK, husband John Matthews Lawton OK, sister Dixie Gilbert Minco OK, brother Jim Terry Noman OK.
