Hoy White
Birth date: March 14, 1927
Death date: April 3, 2013

Hoy White was born March 14, 1927 in Plumberville, Arkansas to Lewis and Corina White. He died April 3, 2013 at the Lawton VA Center, in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was 86 years of age. Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm, Friday, April 12, 2013 at Saint John's Missionary Baptist Church with Interim pastor Reverend Davison Virgil officiating. A reception for family and friends will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at the funeral home.

He was raised and worked as a farmer with his family in Plumberville, Arkansas and attended the local schools, graduating from Plumberville High School.

Shortly after graduation he joined the US Army where he enjoyed an illustrious career that spanned over twenty-one years.

After his military retirement he became a carpenter. He has helped in the construction of many new buildings in the Lawton area. He worked in the construction until his final retirement in 1978.

He loved to fish and play dominoes, if he wasn't at the lake you could find him playing dominoes with his friends where he could play for hours.

He was a member of Saint John's Missionary Baptist Church for forty years; he was also a member of the usher board retiring recently because of his health.

He is preceded in death by both parents, Lewis and Corina White; he is also preceded by all his siblings.

Hoy is survived by his daughter, Michelle Hurd and husband Michael, of Desoto, TX; he also has many nieces and nephews, and extended family members.
