Roosevelt Steward, Jr

Roosevelt Steward, Jr. was born on July 25, 1956 in Macon, Mississippi to Roosevelt, Sr. and Judy Pearl [Green] Steward. He died on December 21, 2013 in Lawton, OK at the age of 57.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 27, 2013 at Friendship Baptist Church, 1521 SW New York Ave, Lawton, OK with Dr. Walter Wilson, officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Ft Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Home.

Roosevelt was raised and attended school in Mississippi.

He entered the military after graduation and served his country for over 21 years before retiring at Ft Sill as a Sergeant First Class.

Roosevelt then worked for over 15 years in the oil field before he was forced to retire due to health issues.

In his spare time, Roosevelt enjoyed cars; buying, selling, repairing, driving, collecting- just about anything to do with cars.

He was a member of the VFW, DAV, and part of Pastor Wilson's Friendship Baptist Church family.

Roosevelt was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include his wife Novella of the home; his father in Alabama; eight children, a sister, two brothers, and a host of grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members. His online guestbook may be signed and condolences sent by visiting: www.whineryhuddleston.com.

6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service 6210 NW Cache Road Lawton Oklahoma 73505.

Service:
10:00 am on Friday, December 27, 2013 at Friendship Baptist Church 1421 SW New York Lawton OK 73501.
