Donald Ray Summers

September 15, 1946 ~ May 19, 2017

Donald Ray Summers, 70, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017, in Oklahoma City. He was born on September 15, 1946, to Arthur Thurman and Velma Irene Price Summers, in Amber.
A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 30, at 10:00 A.M. at the Western Heights Baptist Church, 2305 W. Beech, with Rev. Jim Wilson officiating. Burial will take place at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin at 1:00 P.M.
Donald graduated from Central High School in 1966. He served 8 years in the United States Air Force. After his 1974 honorable discharge from the Air Force at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, Nevada, he stayed in Vegas and became a culinary chef. He moved to Duncan in December, 2010. He was a member of the Western Heights Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son, Adam Summers and his wife Tara, of Jacksonville, Florida; his granddaughter, Bridget Summers; his sisters, Linda Owens and her husband Johnny, and Paula Walters and her husband Dorman, all of Duncan; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers.
