Raymond Paul Sproat

November 27, 1930 ~ December 13, 2019

Raymond Paul Sproat, age 89, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2019.
Raymond was born in Caldwell Kansas in 1930 to Gertrude Metzinger and Richard Sproat. A father and husband who will be missed beyond understanding. He and his wife, Hildegard Sproat, celebrated sixty-five years together this year. They met in Germany and their love carried them and their family for a lifetime. He has moved on, not of his willing, and will surely be waiting for the love of his life. The last thing spoken to his wife was " you are beautiful ". He leaves behind five children; Hildegard, Kathy, Sylvia, Sheila and Raymond Jr.. Through tragedy, strife, unyielding love and hard work, this man raised and supported his family. When his country called him to defend it, he volunteered. Through both the Korean War and the Vietnam War he managed to survive and wore his sacrifice for the protection of his country proudly. He loved people, despite the tragedy that life threw at him. You might remember a tragedy on January 11,1977 where his family became the 5th most reported story in the state of Oklahoma. Despite the tragedy, he cherished everyone he met and was a self-employed businessman for over forty years.
He has departed, will never be forgotten, and will be missed beyond understanding by those who loved him, knew him and understood him. We love and miss you Dad.
Interment will follow at Fort Sill National Cemetery.
