William C. Smith

January 20, 1931 ~ September 2, 2013

William C. Smith, Sr., 82, passed away and is now taking steps to Heaven on September 2, 2013. William was born January 20, 1931 in Annapolis, Maryland to William Webster Sr. and Carolyn Louise Addison. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard including serving in the Korean Conflict and was a dedicated veteran and a member of the Moose Lodge in Norman. William enjoyed church, reading his bible, all types of OU sporting events, fishing and family. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joan and daughter Cheryl Smith Sylvester.
Survivors include children Williams Chester Smith, Jr. and wife Melissa, Yolanda Johnson, Adrianne Smith (Stanton), Marie Smith, Joannea Mansoor and husband Lucky, and Warren Keith Smith and wife Anne; brother William Webster "Webby" Smith; sisters Sandra Smith Davis, Marlene Smith Wilson and Lisa Smith; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, loved ones and countless friends.
Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, September 6, at Bethel Baptist Church, 1717 W. Lindsey St. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at Ft. Sill Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma.
