Gloria Jean Scott

January 07, 1955 - August 15, 2018

Funeral service for Gloria Jean Scott, 63, of Hennessey, will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday in Fort Sill National Cemetery, in Elgin, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Gloria was born on January 7, 1955, in Wharton, Texas, to Ira and Iola (Jackson) Gardner, and passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, in Enid.
Gloria married Gary Scott on February 7, 1976, in Wharton, Texas. In 1987, she graduated from Texas Southern University with a degree in Elementary Education. She worked as an elementary teacher, church secretary, and a cosmetologist. Gloria was a member of the Greater Faith Church of God in Christ, in Hennessey. Gloria was very people oriented and enjoyed being with others and helping.
She was preceded in death by father Ira Gardner, sister Betty Fountain, and granddaughter Ericka Norwood.
Gloria is survived by her husband Gary; daughters Garilyn Norwood of Houston, Marilyn Alidou of Denver, and Jocelyn Edmond, of Houston; son Christopher Williams of Boling, Texas; 11 grandchildren; brothers Robert Gardner and Charles Gardner; and sister Wilma Jackson.
