Vernon Dan Robinson, Sr.

August 14, 1939 - December 20, 2021

Vernon Dan Robinson Sr. 82, of Kingston, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021, at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. He was born on August 14, 1939, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma to the late Henry Herman Robinson and Eula Rachel Landrum Robinson.
Vernon was raised in Sand Springs where he attended school. He joined the United States Navy at the age of 17, serving 22 years, 4 tours in Vietnam on the USS Morton and retiring as Chief Petty Officer in 1978. Vernon married Reva Irene Tate on February 18, 1966, in Long Beach, California. They lived in Seattle, Washington before moving to Kingston in 1989 where he lived the rest of his life. He served as a Reserve Officer for Marshall County Sheriff’s Office from 1997 to 2007 and First Responder and volunteer Fire Fighter for Lebanon Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, throwing horseshoes, researching family history and gardening.
He is survived by his wife Reva Irene Robinson; children, Vernon Dan Robinson, Jr. and wife Liz, Everett, Washington; Mark Lee Robinson, Manhattan, Kansas; Granddaughter: Kesley Anne Robinson; Fur Babies: Abbie and Bingo; Sisters: Eula Graves, Charlene Sala and Sharon Evans Vernon was preceded in death by his parents and sister; Janice Ragsdale, 3 brothers, Virgil H., Hershel L., H. Dwayne Robinson, Father In-Law: Andrew Lee Tate and wife Marge, Mother in-law: Helen Tate Schoumaker.
Visitation will be Tuesday at Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Oklahoma from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
Graveside service will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at the Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, Oklahoma. Joe Patterson will officiate the service. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
