Wynona Sue Taylor
April 4, 1950 - September 26, 2026
Wynona Sue Schlumbohm Taylor, 76, of Lawton, Oklahoma, passed away on September 26, 2026, in the city where she was born on April 4, 1950.
Wynona was born in Lawton to Thomas Edward Schlumbohm and Glenis Dean Schlumbohm, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Taylor, and by her brother, Gary Schlumbohm. Her life was rooted in family, faith, and the quiet strength that so often defines a life well lived.
She is survived by her children, Deborah D. Warrington and Ronda S. Manuel and her husband, Chad. She also leaves behind her brothers, Louis Schlumbohm, Glenn Schlumbohm, and her sister, Melba Cornford. Wynona was a cherished grandmother to Salina Trisdale, Ronald Warrington, Zachary Warrington and his wife, Amanda, Austin Wunner, and Colyer Manuel, and she was blessed with four great-grandchildren who brought joy and light to her later years.
Wynona attended high school and devoted much of her life to her home and family as a homemaker. She embraced that role with love, patience, and grace, creating a warm and welcoming place for those she cared about. Her life was centered on the people she loved, and she found great happiness in the simple but meaningful moments shared around the family table, during visits, and in the everyday rhythms of home.
Those who knew Wynona will remember her as loving, selfless, and spirited. She had a gentle nature, a strong heart, and a steadfast devotion to the people in her life. Her presence brought comfort and encouragement, and she will be remembered for the kindness she showed and the care she gave so freely. Family time was among her greatest treasures, and she made each gathering more special by being part of it.
Wynona's legacy lives on through the family she loved so dearly and through the example she set in the way she lived her life. She faced life with quiet dignity and remained devoted to those closest to her. Her memory will continue to be a source of comfort and strength to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
As Helen Keller so beautifully wrote, "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Those words reflect the enduring place Wynona will hold in the hearts of her family and friends. Though she is no longer present in body, the love she gave, the memories she created, and the example she leaves behind will remain forever.
Wynona Sue Schlumbohm Taylor will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 2, 2026, at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
