Harlan Deon Gough
April 5, 1954 - July 17, 2017
Harlan Deon Gough was born April 5, 1954 in Dallas, TX, the son of Cecil Leon Gough and Fannie Mae Brown Gough. He passed away Monday, July 17, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta, at the age of 63.
Harlan served in the U.S. Army more than 24 years, retiring on December 31, 1998. During that time he was awarded numerous honors including the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal-3D, the Expert Badge with M-16 Rifle Bar, Marksman Badge with Hand Grenade Bar, Marksman Badge with 50 Caliber Bar, Army Service Badge and the Overseas Service Ribbon. Harlan and the former Linda Scrivener were married January 27, 2015.
He enjoyed taking road trips and building model tanks. Harlan also loved visiting with family and spending time with his dog “Cheyenne.” Through the years he had been employed in a variety of occupations including as a truck driver, prison guard, on a railroad crew, at the Dollar General warehouse and also at WinStar.
Harlan was preceded in death by his father; and two brothers, David Gough and Floyd Gough.
Survivors include his wife, Linda of the home; mother, Fannie Mae Smith of Burkburnett, TX; two sons, Daniel Hulme and Michael Hulme and wife Emily, all of Burkburnett; two stepsons, Joseph Barr and Robert Barr and wife Bethany, all of Ardmore; two brothers, Charles Wayne Gough of Wichita Falls, TX and Cecil Gough, Jr. and wife Pam of Kenosha, WI; two sisters, Sylvia Goode, also of Burkburnett and Susan Hupp of Dallas; three grandchildren, Brittany Barr, Blade Barr, and Milly Barr; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Michael and Joy White of Burneyville, OK, Minnie and Jeff Carr of Hulbert, OK, and J.C. and Carrie Scrivener of Siloam Springs, AR.
