Myrna Lee Finnell

November 2, 1939 - September 27, 2017

Myrna Lee Browder Triggs Finnell, 77 years old of Norman, OK passed away on the morning of Sept. 27, 2017 due to complications from Frontal Temporal Dementia.
She was born and raised in Lubbock, TX on Nov. 2, 1939 to Hazel and Dwight Browder and was an only child full of energy, talent, happiness and a huge love for life.
Myrna played the piano, the violin and composed her own piano and violin pieces starting at the very young age of four years old.
From the age of four years old and throughout the rest of her life, she continuously pursued a career/hobby of one of her many artistic passions through her love of piano, violin, composition, poetry, painting, and sewing, amongst many other creative projects.
She met and married Richard Albert Triggs, III, of Lubbock, TX, in 1959, and they had a son and a daughter. They later relocated to Spring, TX where Myrna was active in the choir and as the pianist and organist for Northwest Christian Church in Houston, TX. She was widowed in February of 1993, when her lover, best friend, and father of her children passed away from a massive heart attack.
Myrna made her career of teaching piano until she retired in the year 2000, after she married Robert T. Finnell. He encouraged her to go back to college and they moved to Norman, OK where she attended the University of Oklahoma and received her Bachelor's Degree in Music and Composition. She graduated with honors in 2004 at the age of 64.
Widowed for the second time upon the passing of her second husband, Robert in 2009, Myrna was diagnosed with Frontal Temporal Dementia and lived the remainder of her life at Arbor House Reminisce Center in Norman, OK.
Myrna was a fighter and touched the lives of countless family, friends, and caregivers through her love for Christ. Her music, big smile, compassion for others and bubbly personality will be sorely missed by many, but her memory and legacy will always live on.
She is survived by her son, Richard M. Triggs, 56 years old of Houston, TX; her daughter, Rina Lee Marek, 51 years old and her husband Trey Marek of Norman, OK; and her only grandchild, Christopher Sean Hall, 32 years old of Norman, OK.
Viewing will be 5-8pm Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman, OK. Services to celebrate her life will be 6:00pm Friday at the Chapel of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
