John Alan Dickey

September 20, 1957 - March 29, 2017

John Alan Dickey, Lawton, was born September 20, 1957 in Lawton to Silvey and Ruby (Bundsen) Dickey. He passed away peacefully on March 29, 2017 at the age of 59. A visitation will be held Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 1pm-4pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 3, 2017 at 11:00am in the Whinery-Huddleston Chapel. Burial will follow at Cache Cemetery.
John was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a selfless man who was always helping people in need and putting other's needs before his own. John will be remembered for being everybody's friend and for his ability to form special and close relationships with each person he knew. He had an exceptional American work ethic; he was the most hardworking person and never quit until the job was done. He never gave up on anything and nothing was ever too big of a challenge for him. John worked as a certified sheet metal mechanic for HVAC. John was always doing the right thing and took pride in everything he did. In his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. John loved cars and music. He had a green thumb and loved gardening and growing his own vegetables. He was a role model and mentor to many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. John is preceded in death by his parents, Ruby A. Dickey and Silvey F. Dickey.
Survivors include his wife, Lauren Dickey of the home; daughter, Adrian Gohl of Lawton; son, Mason Dickey of Lawton; son, Clayton Dickey of Lawton; grandchildren: Lily Gohl and Kwintin Gohl; brother, Melvin Hooker; sister, Shirley Scott; brother, Luther Dickey; and sister, Sybil Cook. He also leaves to cherish his memory many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members in various parts of the country. We would also like to list all of John's friends, but that would be nearly impossible.
