John Phillip Wood, a Coalgate resident, was born on September 12, 1937, to William Jr and Katherine (Nesbitt) Wood, at Pauls Valley, OK. Phillip passed away on January 13, 2023 at Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 1 day. He graduated from Coalgate High School in the Class of 1955. Phillip owned and operated Phillip Wood Refrigeration for over 60 years. He was also a rancher. He married Brenda Bunch on April 14, 1983 at Coalgate, OK. They enjoyed 39 wonderful years together. Phillip was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Coalgate. He served on the first Coal County Livestock Board and Coal County Fair Board. Phillip enjoyed going to auctions and watching grandchildren and great grandchildren play ball and at Livestock Shows. His most cherished times were spent with his family
