L.M. RUSH

COALGATE — Services for L. M. Rush, 92, of Coalgate are at 11 a.m. Friday at the Tupelo Church of Christ. Wendell Ingram and Jesse Stephens will officiate. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery near Clarita.

Mr. Rush died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at a Coalgate hospital.

He was born Oct. 27, 1921, in Burrow Valley to Luther Montruel and Charlotte Estella Wilbanks Rush. He attended school in Clarita.

He married Myrtie Grace Burton on Nov. 21, 1946, in Gonzales, Calif. Mr. Rush was a farmer and had been employed as a grader operator and a county road foreman for Coal County, District 3.

He was a member of the Tupelo Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtie Grace Rush, of the home; two daughters, Myra Jean Harkins and her husband, Roy, of Winston, Oregon, and Patricia Deen Brimhall and her husband, Raymond, of Dillard, Oregon; a cousin, Charles Hudson and his wife, Janice, of Coalgate; a brother, Edgar “Dub” Rush of Nevada, Missouri; his grandchildren, Zachery Brimhall of Dillard, Oregon, Amie Hunter and husband, Scott, Winston, Oregon, Jaye Harkins and wife, Shelly, Drain, Oregon, and Jamie Harkins, Albany, Oregon; his great-grandchildren, Dillon Harkins, Dustin Arms, Brandon Arms, J. C. Harkins, Killian Bond, Savanna Harkins, Cody Hunter and Gavin Hunter; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, two brothers and a granddaughter, Reannon Brimhall.

Bearers will be Johnny Flowers, Randy Bills, Charles Canida, Larry Westbrook, Kenny Ray and Charles Hudson. Honorary bearers will be Winferd Westbrook, Bob Woods, Bob Ingram, Mike Hensley, Chris Lloyd, Ed King, Dale Marshall and Kyle Bailey.
