Edgar M. "Dub" Rush

Edgar “Dub” Rush Services for Edgar M. “Dub” Rush, 99, of Nevada, MO, formerly of the Tupelo area are 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Tupelo Church of Christ, Wendell Ingram will officiate. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.

Mr. Rush passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016 in a Nevada, MO hospital. He was born August 15, 1916 in Clarita to Luther and Charlotte Wilbanks Rush. He attended Clarita school.

He married Margie Novak July 17, 1942. She preceded him in death October 10, 2009 in Tupelo. Mr. Rush was a farmer and rancher, truck driver and had served as a Judge in Tupelo. He was a member of the Church of Christ and had served in the 84th Infantry with the U. S. Army during World War II. Mr. Rush was awarded the Bronze Star for his service.

Survivors include a son, Edgar M. Rush and wife Lynda of Nevada, MO; his granddaughter, Janie Rush Williams and her husband Johnny of Sheldon, MO; two great-grandchildren, Courtney Williams and Michael Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four sisters and three brothers.

Bearers will be Johnny Williams, Kenny Ray, Charles Canada, Dale Marshall, Eddie King, and Larry Westbrook. Honorary bearers will be Bobby Ingram, Bobby Woods, and Winfred Westbrook.
