Curtis Lynn Nelson, a long time Coalgate resident, was born on June 13, 1957, to Doyle Curtis Nelson and Mary Jo (Schultz) Nelson, at Ada, Oklahoma. He passed away on March 13, 2025, at Coalgate, Oklahoma, at the age of 67 years and 9 months. Curtis attended schools at Clarita and Olney. He graduated from Olney High School with the Class of 1975. Curtis worked as an operator and spread man for the pipe line. He married Sheila June Vick on September 19, 1975, at the Coalgate Church of Christ. They were blessed with 49 years together. Together they built a beautiful family full of love. Curtis enjoyed hunting with his coon dogs and mules. His favorite times were spent watching his grandchildren play ball and taking them hunting and fishing. Curtis loved going up on the ranch to work and look at the deer, elk and hogs and taking the kids all fishing. He loved his food!
