Raymond Joseph Krebs

Funeral services for Raymond Joseph Krebs, a longtime Coal County resident, were held Friday, December 11, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Higgins officiating. Burial was in Moore Cemetery with Brown's Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Krebs was born January 20, 1922 in Lindsey, TX to Albert Charlie and Catherine (Delter) Krebs and passed away December 9, 2009 in Coalgate at the age of 97. He attended school in Lindsey, TX and married Viola Mary Thilges on June 4, 1924 in St. Joe, IA. *note date of year could not be right* She preceded him in death on December 12, 1999. Mr. Krebs worked for years in law enforcement in Algora, IA and sheriff for Coal County, Chief of Police for Coal County, Special Investigator under D. A. John Axton and bus driver for Olney Public School. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, served in the military in WWII, served on the USS Leo, USS WM. P. Biddle and USS Lasalle. He was a motor machinist mate( heavy equipment operator).

Survivors include two sons, Daniel Raymond Krebs of Ada and Larry Krebs and wife Cathy of Coalgate; grandchildren, Joey Allen Krebs of OKC, Damon Krebs and Katy of Coalgate, Calie Krebs of Coalgate and Joseph Krebs and Tiffany of Coalgate; great grandchildren, Chace Krebs, Brant Krebs, Boone Breecheen , and Dallas Krebs; sister, Catherine Nokusille. He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Mary (Thilges) Krebs; parents, Albert Charlie and Catherine Deiter Krebs; sister, Sister Mary Alberta Krebs; and great grandchildren, Braden and Denver Krebs.

Casketbearers were J B Blua, Nick Lolli, Glenn Glass, Warren Powell, J. D. Smith, and Don Stanberry. Honorary bearers were Jack Ruffini, Victor Enrico, Bill Avanzini, Bill McCarty, Bobby George Lee, William Hunter, Charles Spears and Charles D. Spears.
