Earl Mitchell Jones, a Tupelo resident, was born on April 9, 1933, to Claudson Marion and Willie May (Lovelady) Jones, at Walters, Oklahoma. He passed away on March 15, 2024, at Coalgate, Oklahoma, at the age of 90 years, 11 months and 6 days. In his early years, he lived upstairs at the Lexington Fire Department where he worked tending to the hogs and sheep. It was there he met his love, Ruth Marie Jones. They married in 1951, and enjoyed many years together before her passing. Earl loved to hunt coyotes and run his hounds. He loved talking on the phone, watching Fox News and the cowboy channel. Earl liked listening to old country music. His favorite times were spent with family especially with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
