The funeral service celebrating the life of Timothy Jay Hames, 55, Enid, will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, in the Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle, with burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Norman, with Bruce Christian officiating, under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

He was born Sept. 4, 1960, in Norman to Mel Hames and Laura Holman, and moved to Enid in 2011. He was raised and educated in Norman, graduating from Norman High School, and was a member of the Baptist church. 

Tim loved all sports and in his younger years, he was an avid water skier and loved to ride motorcycles. He was passionate about golf, fishing and bowling in leagues. He loved anything OU, including going to OU games with his family. He had a kind and sensitive heart and was a loving son, brother, and uncle. 
He is preceded by his mother Laura Holman and his grandparents.  

He is survived by his father and step-mother, Mel and Tonda Hames; sisters, Loretta Sause, and husband Dave; Cindy Young, and husband Ray; brother, Curtis Hames, and wife Teresa; nieces, Kimberly Ellis, and husband Scott; Tabatha Aragon, and husband Steve; Heather Phillips, and husband Shawn; Ellie Hames; nephew, Raymond Young, and wife Su Yang; along with numerous other family members. 

Tim was a very special person who was loved by many. A heartfelt thanks to everyone at Evergreen Life Services, DDSD, and Circle Of Love Hospice, and all other team members involved in Tim’s care over the years. 
A special thanks to Yost Smith who has always gone above and beyond; Lisa Booze, Ron Ramsey, and Cheirlynn Wheeler, who all have cared for Tim in ways that his family will always be grateful for.

Memorials may be made in his name to Oklahoma Medical Research with Brown-Cummings Serving as custodians of the funds.
