Sharon Whyatt, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at her home with family by her side. She was 63 years of age.

Sharon was a parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Norman. She had worked with Safeway/Homeland Stores for 27 years and most recently at the Marriott Hotel located at NCED. Her family was the most important aspect of her life and she cherished every opportunity to be with them, especially her grandchildren. As the unofficial family historian, she knew all of the important dates and never missed birthdays, anniversaries or other special occasions. Quite simply, she loved her family and they loved her. She will be missed greatly but her legacy lives on through each of them.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, John Whyatt; son, Benjamin Whyatt and wife Jennifer; son, Joseph Whyatt; grandchildren, Chloe Whyatt, Ian Whyatt and Ethan Whyatt; sister, Janet Tune and husband Jerry; brother, Robert Gumaer and wife JoAnn; and to many nieces and nephews to name.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Shirley Gumaer and sister, Marilyn Vencius.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2015 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to St. Thomas More Catholic Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.
