Ronald Dean Stanley Sr. was born on October 23, 1946 in Vinita, Oklahoma to Fred Ralph Stanley Sr. and Geneva Maxine (Anderson) Stanley. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 13, 2018 at his home in Blanchard, Oklahoma.

Ron grew up in the Vinita area and graduated from Vinita High School. Ron also study at the University of Oklahoma. He joined the United States Air Force in 1966 and served for 4 years before being honorably discharged.

November 16, 1984 Ron married the love of his life, Linda (Hunter) Stanley and they shared all of life's ups and downs for 34 years.

He was employed by the USDA as a meat inspector before retiring. He also worked as a Computer Programmer at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center until he retired for a second time in 2002.

Ron was a born cowboy. Ron found some of his greatest joys in life while on horseback. He had a special fondness for horses. Ron not only broke and trained horses, but he was also an excellent team roper. He and his team roping partners won many accolades and awards over the years.

Ron's other passion in life was music. Throughout Ron's life, beginning at 14 years old, he began playing country music as an additional source of income. He played the Steele guitar, the saxophone, banjo, and drums. Over the years he had been asked to play with numerous groups and extremely talented musicians. Ron played with some of the best known country and western groups in Oklahoma and elsewhere.

While being a true cowboy and a country and western musician were his life and passions, his greatest loves were his wife, Linda, and his children and grandchildren. It would only take a short time of talking with Ron and you would know just how much he loved them and enjoyed being with them. Family was very important to Ron.

He never took his wedding band off from the day he and Linda were married.

Ron Stanley was preceded in death by his mother and father as well as one brother, Claude Stanley.

He leaves behind his oldest brother Fred of Vinita, Oklahoma, his wife Linda, of the home. Three children: Bobby Stanley and wife April, of Mustang, Oklahoma. Ronald D. Stanley, Jr. and his wife Terra, of Wewoka, Oklahoma. Tina Carrisal and Husband Benny of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Left behind are also grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Ron will also be missed by countless other relatives, friends, roping buddies, and country and western musicians.
