Ann Carlene "Pete" (James) Rettig

Ann Carlene (James) Rettig, 76 years old, born November 24, 1934 to Milton and Lucy Hollingshead James in Holland, MO, passed away on December 2, 2010 at her home in Norman, OK. 

Ann and Charles were married on March 16, 1952 and had been married for 58 years.  Being part of a military family, Ann had the opportunity to travel abroad in her earlier years and lived in Germany for a while.  Ann loved working with ceramics and owned Mid-Del Ceramics in the 1980s.  She also loved reading, computers, and all electronic gadgets. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton & Lucy James of Hayti, MO, two brothers, Milton James, Jr and David James of Missouri;  two sisters, Ruby Hood of Missouri and Barbara Robinson of Alabama. 

She is survived by her husband Charles of the home, son Reverend Charles Rettig and wife Jenny of Holdenville, OK, son Ron Rettig and wife Debbie of Keller, TX, son Larry Rettig of Norman, OK, son Dennis Rettig and wife Trish of Norman, OK, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, brother Johnny James of Macon, GA. 

She was our firecracker, our Pistol Pete, Mema, Mom, and Wife.  She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed. 

A very special thank you to family friend Michelle Buchanan for all of her help and comfort during this time, and to the nurses and staff of Carter Health Care & Hospice. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Randy Rettig of Baltimore, MD; James Rettig of Norman, OK; Dustin Rettig of Bixby, OK; Joshua Rettig of Keller, TX; Derek Rettig of Petersburg, VA; Jeff Stark of Newcastle, OK. 

Honorary pallbearers Jay Sullivan, Travis Talley, James Martin.
