Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at Brookwood Baptist Church, with services directed by Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary.

Genevieve E. Brown-Pritner left this earth & went to heaven Feb. 27, 2016. She was born Dec. 30, 1916 in Winthrop, AR, the second child of five to Walter & Ethel (Erwin) Dehart. The family moved to Poteau, OK in 1918, and Genevieve graduated from Poteau High School in 1934. She married Roy C. Brown in 1937, moving to Oklahoma City in 1947. For a number of years she served as bookkeeper for the family plumbing business. She was a member of Brookwood Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She leaves many precious friends there.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Otis, Marcus, & Frank Dehart; one sister, Dorothy Lucado; husband of 56 years & father of their three children, Roy Brown. Also preceding her in death was her daughter, Virginia Ann Doughty; a son, Bruce E. Brown, and grandson, Jason Edward Brown.

She is survived by one son, Thomas L. Brown & wife Bonnie of Tahlequah; daughter-in-law Kathy Brown of Yukon; son-in-law Dean Doughty & wife Mary Lou of Mustang. She was “Maw-Maw” to three granddaughters, Jennifer Amburn & husband Craig, Missy Warma & husband Brent, Jansie Hansen & husband Don; one grandson, Ron Doughty & wife Shelly; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren, and a number of loving nieces & nephews.

In 1995, Genevieve married Bennett Pritner, a longtime family friend. Bennett went to be with the Lord after 9 years of marriage. After his death, surviving was one stepson, Bennie Pritner & wife Jan; two stepdaughters, Nancy Nelson & husband Ken, and Janell Heistand.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at Brookwood Baptist Church, with services directed by Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary.

Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family would like to thank the very compassionate caregivers at Meadowlake Estates & Physicians Choice Hospice.
