Murl Dewayne Stewart, age 76 of Oklahoma City, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2020. Murl was born December 28, 1943 in Okla. City, the oldest of 4 children born to Murl and Ruby Stewart.

He was raised in the Okla. City and attended school there, graduating from Capital Hill High School in 1963. Murl was a proud patriot and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married Katherine Smith and together they raised two daughters, Lana and Shauna. Murl worked as a Custodian for the Okla. City School Board, retiring after more than 30 years of dedicated service.

When he wasn't working, he enjoyed lake trips, camping and fishing with his family. He was an avid reader, and somewhat of a historian of U.S. Military and planes, and he looked forward to the air shows at Tinker Air Force Base.

Murl was a family man first; he cherished his girls and especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by: His parents, Murl and Ruby Stewart and Infant sister, Vera Jolene Stewart.

Murl is survived by: His daughters, Lana Steen and companion Jonathan Shoemaker of OKC and Shauna Richard and husband Scott of Okla. City; Two sisters, Murlon Kalivada and husband Dennis of Moore and Radonna McVay and husband Jimmy of Tuttle; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Graveside Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at Resthaven Cemetery in Okla. City. Send online condolences Wilson Little Funeral Home
