Betty June Stamps age 84 of Oklahoma City went home to be with her Lord, Sunday, January 22, 2017 at her home.

She was born January 10, 1933 in Newcastle, Oklahoma. Betty was the youngest of three children born to John Henry Ruppert and Pansy Estelle (Cross) Ruppert. Betty grew up in Newcastle, graduating from Newcastle High School with the class of 1950. While in high school she was a standout basketball player. On December 30, 1954, Betty married Lawrence Paul Stamps Jr. in Newcastle. During their first ten years of marriage, they lived in various states because Lawrence was in the U.S. Army. In the mid 1960’s they made their home in Oklahoma City where they raised two sons, David and Ron. Betty worked hard as a wife, mother and homemaker. After her sons started school, she went to work for International Harvester in OKC. Working there 10 years as a secretary. Betty was a faithful Christian throughout her life. For many years she attended Western Hills Baptist Church. Since 1979 she has been a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church. For nearly 10 years, Betty volunteered at Southwest Integris Medical Center in OKC. She loved staying busy with hobbies, such as golfing, gardening, playing bridge and other card games. She enjoyed watching sports on TV and especially watching the OKC Thunder. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by: Parents, John and Pansy Ruppert; Husband, L. Paul Stamps on Sept. 22, 2004; Son, David Paul Stamps; Two brothers, Bill and Bob Ruppert;

She is survived by: One son, Ron Stamps and wife Teresa of Tuttle, Two grandchildren, Josh Stamps and wife Amanda of OKC, Heather Kelley and husband Tommy of Tuttle; Six great grandchildren, Hailee, Tristen, Nathaniel, Chloe, Grant and Abigail; Brother-in-law, Jerry Stamps and wife Pat of CA; Nieces and nephews, Joe Ruppert and wife Peggy, Janice Ruppert, Terri Ruppert, Kristen Ruppert, Beth and Paula Stamps; And a host of friends,

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Southern Hills Baptist Church in S. OKC.

Interment will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made online to: Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle. www.wilsonlittle.com
