Private First Class James Howell Smith

James was born in Beacon, New York to Greenville P and Jean Smith. Sometime during his childhood his parents moved the family to Oklahoma City. He enlisted in the Marines 9 September 1968 in Oklahoma City.

James died from fragmentation wounds to the body from a rocket propelled grenade, while on a patrol 9 kilometers West Northwest of Cam Lo Village.
