Neal Jennings Grover, age 86, passed from this life surrounded by his loving family, on November 6, 2014, in Purcell, Oklahoma. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday,  November 10, 2014, at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman with Pastor Ross Pruitt officiating.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetary in Oklahoma City.  Pall bearers will be Greg Grover, Curtis Hill, Tim Caldwell, Jake Farrow, Matt Caldwell and Justin Farrow.
    
Neal was born November 28, 1927 to Marion V. and Pearl Frances Schinnerer Grover at his maternal grandparents farm near Garden City, Kansas.  He was raised on his parent's farm in Liberal, Kansas.  He graduated from Kismet High School in Kismet, Kansas.
    
Neal enlisted in the U.S. Navy on April 1, 1946. He was stationed in Hawaii and received an Honorable Discharge in 1947.  He then moved to Noble, Oklahoma, with his parents and began working for his father in the construction and remodeling of homes in Noble and Norman.  It was in Noble that Neal met the love of his life, Bonnie Jo Bates.  They were married on August 4, 1948 in Noble at the home of his uncle, Reverend Delette and Lorraine Grover.  At the time of his death, he and Bonnie had been married 66 years.  They had two children, Ronnie, born in 1949, and Peggy, born in 1953.
    
Neal attended the University of Oklahoma for two semesters before embarking on his career in law enforcement in 1950.  He served 3 years with the OU Police Department, 8 years with the Norman Police Department, 14 years with the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office and 8 years with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections as a Special Investigator, retiring in September, 1993, with over 2000 hours of Law Enforcement special training.  Neal could not resist helping the neighbors and family with various handyman projects, and enjoyed taking immaculate care of his yard.  He was a member of the Sheriff and Peace Officers Association of Oklahoma, Oklahoma Polygraph Association, American Association of Police Polygraphists, and a life member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Norman.
    
Neal was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gordon and Harley; three sisters, Anna Bondurant, Hazel Lawrence and Helen Humberg; and great-great grandson, Maddox Farrow. 

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, of the home; son, Ronnie Grover and wife Carol of Newcastle, daughter, Peggy Hill and husband Curtis of Lexington; grandchildren, Kristy Brock and husband Rick of Purcell, Greg Grover and wife Kris of Newcastle, Teresa Caldwell and husband Kevin of Lexington, Gina Morgan and husband Brandon of Newcastle, Curtis Allen Hill and wife Melissa of Lexington; great-grandchildren, Tim Caldwell and wife Rebecca, Jake Farrow, Matt Caldwell, Justin Farrow, Coy Grover, Ashley Grover, Trenton Caldwell, Zackary Caldwell, Nicole Lee, Alexis Brock, Kaitlyn Morgan, Ross Brock, Caden Hill, Taylor Campbell and Alexis Campbell; great-great granddaughter, Spencer Farrow, and, last but not least, his precious little Dachsund, Sam.
