Obie Caylon Coleman, 78, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on June 6, 2015.

Caylon was born September 21, 1936 in Lexington, Oklahoma to Obie and Bertha (Hollowell) Coleman.  He was the youngest of eleven children.  He grew up and attended high school in Lexington.  Caylon earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma and went on to earn a master’s degree.   He was married to Patsy (Anderson) Coleman for 58 years.  Together they lived in Oklahoma City where they raised three children.  Caylon began his career at Kerr McGee and then transitioned to the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center where he retired.  He founded Cayman’s in Norman in 1980.  Cayman’s continues to thrive after 35 successful years.

Caylon was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy; daughter, Shelley Cox and husband Michael and their son Grant of Norman; son, Obie Curtis Coleman of Oklahoma City; daughter, Lisa McKelvey and husband Tom and their daughter’s Allie, Kaylon and Quincy of Southlake, Texas; one sister, Margie Jones of Oklahoma City; one brother, Doyle Coleman of Norman; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.

To those of us who called him husband, father and grandfather, his life was extraordinary. The greatest joys of his life were creating memories while traveling the world with his family and spending time together at family reunions.  Caylon was devoted to his family and their happiness. We will cherish our wonderful memories until we see him again.

Funeral service will be 10:00AM, Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
