Lenora laid down to
sleep last Saturday evening and woke up Sunday morning, December 18, 2016 in
heaven.
Lenora was born in Lindsay, Oklahoma, and the fourth child to Daniel R. Street
and Ina May (Currington) Street. Lenora grew up in Lindsay, and then attended
Oklahoma Women’s College (now University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in
Chickasha). She was a voice major and used that talent throughout her life to
the joy of many. Lenora studied in New Your City and sang on Broadway. Lenora
returned to Norman to receive her Master’s Degree.
She met a young Army Air Corps Lieutenant, A.K. (Kay) Wilson whom she married.
They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary before his death in 2013.
Lenora was involved in many clubs and originations. She was an elder for many
years in her church. She loved to play bridge and won many tournaments. She
and Kay were big supporters of Oklahoma Sooner athletics and loved to watch the
OKC Thunder.
Lenora was Mrs. Oklahoma in 1960 and she enjoyed traveling the state and
performing. Most of all Lenora loved the Lord with all her heart, soul, and
mind. She loved her church and served it diligently. She taught bible study
for over 30 years.
She loved her family fiercely and was loved greatly in return and will be
missed. She was a homemaker, fabulous cook, and loved to entertain and
fellowship.
Lenora was preceded in death by her parents Daniel R. Street and Ina Street, her
brother, D.R. Street, sisters, Geneva Bradley and Eileen Shields, and her
beloved daughter, Kaylen Melton.
Her daughter, Dana Wilson Pascucci and husband Perry of Tulsa, OK survive her.
Other survivors include grandchildren; Dr. Daniel Pascucci and wife Kami of
Edmond, OK, Kaitlin Brister and husband Austin of Norman, OK, Rev. J.K. Melton
and wife Rev. Heather of Bronxville, NY, Alicia Berry and husband Tony of
Centennial, CO, great grandchildren: Tyler Brister, Asher Brister, Kaysen Berry,
Karter Berry, Carrie Melton, and Lucy Melton.
A Visitation will be held at Havenbrook Funeral Home 1-8PM Tuesday, December 27,
2016 with family to receive friends from 5-7PM.
Services will be held 10:00AM Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Havenbrook
Funeral Home Chapel, 3401 Havenbrook St. in Norman, OK with
burial to follow at IOOF Cemetery
in Norman. In Lieu of flowers please donate to the First Christian Church of
Norman, 220 S Webster Ave, Norman, OK 73069.
