Erta Estalene (Green) Lupin

Erta E. Lupin, age 90, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014 in Norman.  Erta was born May 23, 1924 to Sam and Ada Green of Lawton, Oklahoma.  She was the sixth of ten children.  All are deceased except for two younger sisters, Lily Fryar and Rosemary Cox and her baby brother, Earnest Green.  She met her husband John Lupin, Sr. in 1943 and they married in Lawton Oklahoma in 1944.  After John was discharged from the service, they moved to San Pedro, California.  They had two sons, Dennis and John Jr.

Erta went to work in 1954 as a Commissary worker for T.W.A. and work her way up to a Staff Assistant for T.W.A. at Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma City.  During that time she got to know and become good friends with three Presidents and many Hollywood stars.   She retired after 40 years of service with T.W.A.

Erta was preceded in death by her husband, John in 2006 and her son, Dennis in 1986. 

She is survived by her son, John Jr., and his wife Linda of Norman; grandchildren, John Lupin III of OKC, Julie Reeves of Norman, Scott Lupin of Thousand Oaks, CA, John C. Lupin of Glendora, CA, Bill Lupin of NC; and numerous great grandchildren.

Visitation for will be from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00  p.m., Monday, June 9, 2014 at  Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook St, Norman, OK. 

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Lakeside Church of God, 4400 Alameda, Norman, OK with interment following at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norman, OK.
