Janice Lorelei Higgins Blunck, 53, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, October 27, 2008, at Norman Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, October 30, 2008, at McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church with Reverend Dick House officiating. Interment will follow at the Norman I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Janice's nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary bearers will be the McFarlin Memorial Methodist Church Advent Committee. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.

Janice was born May 31, 1955, in Orlando, Florida, to Michael James and Corelean (Ewing) Higgins. She was a lifelong Norman resident, graduating from Norman High School in 1973. She then graduated from the University of Oklahoma in December 1977. Janice married Tim Blunck on July 26, 1987, in Norman, Oklahoma. She retired from the Norman Transcript about 10 years ago as chief photographer for the newspaper. She was a longtime member of McFarlin Memorial Methodist Church in Norman. Janice was a loving wife and mother and will be deeply missed by her family.

Janice is survived by her husband, Tim, of the home; two sons, Theron Christopher and Michael Andrew Blunck, of the home; parents, Michael and Corelean Higgins, of Norman; brother, Mike Higgins of Norman; mother and father-in-law, Theron and Wanda Blunck, of Norman; three sisters-in-law, Marti Callaghan of Norman, Anne Ziegler and husband, Conrad, of Norman, and Dottie Blunck Hillerby of Norman; three brothers-in-law, Pat Blunck and wife, Carla, of Florida, David Blunck and wife, Kay, of Norman, and Danny Blunck, of Norman; two uncles, Douglas Ewing and wife, Claudene of Wayne, Okla. and Ronnie Higgins and wife, Carol, of Maryland; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
