Claude Charries Jr., age 71 of Lexington, passed away Friday April 22, 2016, at the Purcell Municipal Hospital.

Claude Massey Charries Jr was born July 27, 1944 in Hobart, OK, to Claude Massey Charries Sr. and Frances Marie (Avant) Charries. He was raised in Hobart and attended Hobart Schools, graduating in 1962. After high school, Claude began working in the harvest fields. Not too long later, he joined the United States Air Force. Claude served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. After the war, he returned home to Oklahoma settling near Roosevelt. He later took a job at Haliburton, and it was here that he met the love of his life, Janie Haysler. They were married on September 12, 1981 in Oklahoma City. They made their home primarily in Lexington where they raised their family. Claude went back to school, receiving his bachelors and began a 2nd career as an X-Ray Technician for the Norman Regional Health System. Those that knew him best, remember an honest man, good natured, loving and kind. He loved a good hamburger and you would never see him without his beloved peanuts. Claude cherished his family! He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by: His parents, Claude and Frances Chairres and 2 brothers, Gene Chairess and Austel Chairess.

Claude leaves behind: His wife, Janie of the home; 4 sons, Kevin Charries and wife Belinda of Ben Lomond, CA, Jason Haysler and wife Amy of Purcell, Wesley Haysler and wife Kim of Norman and Jacob Charries and wife Gena of Moore; His daughter, Jennifer Everett and husband David of Roosevelt, OK; 20 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and A host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Purcell. Arrangements by Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Purcell.
