Jerry Greenwood, age 71 of Norman, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015. Jerry Lee Greenwood was born June 1, 1943 in Norman, OK to William Lee Greenwood and Lorene Bernice (Cottrell) Greenwood. Jerry was raised in Norman and attended Norman Schools, graduating in 1963 from Norman High School. After graduation, he began working for the University of Oklahoma. On June 25, 1965, at the Grace Church of the Nazarene in Norman, Jerry married his best friend and true love, Miss Shari Henderson. They made their home in Noble where together they raised their young family, son Chad and daughter Jenny. In 1981, they purchased a country home in Slaughterville. Jerry loved horses and needed a place large enough to go riding with Jenny. In 1992, they settled back in Norman and have called it home since. For more than 28 years, Jerry worked at the Jimmy Austin Golf Course retiring as the Grounds Keeper Supervisor in 2007. Jerry loved western themed décor and was an avid collector of miniature horses. He liked building cross necklaces and shopping for his wife, Shari. He liked to fish, play his guitar and was a faithful member of the Maguire Baptist Church. Jerry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and a good friend. He will be dearly missed! He was preceded in death by: His parents, William and Lorene Greenwood and An infant brother, Earnest Lee Greenwood. Jerry leaves behind: His wife, Shari of the home; Son, Chad Greenwood of Norman; Daughter, Jenny Wilcox and husband Toby of Noble; Four grandchildren, Taylor, Cassidy, Jacob and Carleigh And a host of other family and friends. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 16, 2015, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Noble Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Purcell
