Alice Marie (Champeau) Caddell

Alice Marie Caddell, 91, a lifelong resident of Norman, Oklahoma passed away April 8, 2013. Marie was born to Lloyd and Jewell Champeau on April 21, 1921 in Norman.

Marie married William Ralph Caddell on April 23, 1939 in Norman, where they reared their seven children, two boys and five girls.

Marie’s family fondly remembers her as a busy mom who was always on the go for her family. She enjoyed reading, especially the Bible, cooking, shopping and gardening. She was a good cook and especially enjoyed making desserts. Music with her family played an important role in her life.

She had been married 70 years before her husband passed away July 4, 2009.

Marie is survived by six children; Karen Neumann and husband Mikel of Portland, Oregon, Cheryll Hanks and husband Bob of Wentzville, Missouri, Lyndal Caddell and wife Susan of Norman, David Caddell and wife Sally of Norman; Debbra Clary and husband Hal of Norman, Barbara Parr and husband Randy of Norman; one sister, Georgiana Chapman and husband Bill of Norman; two sister-in-laws, Edna Champeau of Tennessee, Ethel Champeau of Loveland, Colorado, twenty-four grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and family friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ralph Caddell; daughters, Beverly Morgan, stillborn Baby Caddell; brothers, Floyd Champeau and Herbert Champeau; son-in-law Michael Choate and grandson, Eddie Choate.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2013 and 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2013. Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 13, at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1289 Northcliff Ave. Norman, Oklahoma, 73071, with interment following at Maguire-Fairview Cemetery, Noble, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma. Online condolences may be shared at www.havenbrookfuneralhome.com.
