Jean McCown, age 76 of Edmond, passed away, Friday, September 15, 2017.

Carolyn Jean Nuckols was born March 18, 1941 near Little Axe, Oklahoma. She was the youngest of three children born to Green and Effie (McKiddy) Nuckols. She began school in Little Axe and later moved to Lexington where she graduated with the Class of 1958. On June 19, 1959, Jean married her best friend and the love of her life, Ace McCown. They lived in Lexington, Hugo, Broken Bow and Duncan. Together they raised two sons, Terry and Barry. Jean retired from a career at Halliburton as a Safety Facilitator. She also sold real estate and was a consultant for Mary Kay. Jean had many interests. She was a supporter of the Philharmonic and enjoyed singing with the Sweet Adelines. Jean was a bright soul that lived life to the fullest, her personality was contagious and she was a woman of great beauty and class. She inspired family and friends alike with her daily wisdom and her outlook on life. She was an excellent host and enjoyed entertaining. She never met a stranger. Jean cherished her family and especially her grandchildren. She loved sports of all kinds and was Mason and Terra’s biggest fan. She enjoyed traveling and spending time in Destin where her and Ace owned properties. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a great friend to many. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by: Her husband, Ace McCown; Her parents, Green and Effie Nuckols; Her brother, Don Nuckols;

Jean is survived by: Her sons, Terry McCown and wife Carla of Lewisville, TX, and Barry McCown of Edmond; Two grandchildren, Mason McCown and Terra McCown, both of Lewisville, TX; Her sister, Jerrie Burchett of Oklahoma City; And a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, at Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell from 1-8pm. Jean's family will be at the funeral home between 1-3pm to receive friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Monday, September 18, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Lexington. Burial will follow at the Lexington Cemetery.
