Wayne Howard Hollowell
Graveside services for Wayne Howard Hollowell, 77, of Norman were held July 18, 2005 at Lexington Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Rhoades officiating. Services were under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
Mr. Hollowell died July 15, 2005 at Grace Living Center in Norman.
He was born May 12, 1928 in Lexington, the only child of Irvin Leslie Hollowell and Blanche Medearis Hollowell. He was reared east of Lexington, attending school at Spring Hill. When he was a child his mother died and he was reared by his grandparents.
Mr. Hollowell worked most of his life driving a truck and operating heavy equipment. He worked many years for Cleveland County, Highway District #3 in Noble and also worked part time for himself as a dump truck operator.
Mr. Hollowell lived most of his life in Lexington and had lived at Grace Living Center in Norman for the past 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leslie and Eunice Hollowell and his parents, Irvin and Blanche Hollowell.
Survivors include his three aunts, Dorothy Waddle and Arline Ashley, both of Norman, and Ruth Harrell of Lexington and cousins, Darlene Doty of Tulsa, Haskell Waddle of Los Altos, Calif., Sue Marcum of Topeka, Kan., Betty Anderson of Pueblo, Colo., Joe Witt of Pryor, Louis Harper of Oklahoma City and Bob Campbell of Norman.
