Joaquin Giron, age 57 of Lexington, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015, at the Purcell Care Center. Jose Joaquin Giron was born November 1, 1957, in Apaseo el Alto Gto, Mexico. He was one of eleven children born to Ignacio Giron Alvarez and Beatriz Arreguin Rico. After moving to the United States, Joaquin settled in the Lexington and Purcell area. For many years he worked as a rancher and farmer for Raymond and Zoe Ellis in Wayne, Oklahoma. Joaquin was a hard worker and loyal employee. He loved being in the outdoors and working with his hands. Joaquin was adopted by the Champeau family in Lexington and lived with them on their farm in Lexington. He was an avid gardener, he enjoyed raising cattle, he loved training, riding and working with horses. Joaquin was proud of his Hispanic heritage and culture. However, one of the happiest days of his life was when he got his certificate and became an American Citizen. He was a faithful Christian and a member of the Heartland Baptist Church in Purcell. He will be remembered as a wonderful son, brother and a true friend. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by: His parents, Ignacio Giron and Beatriz Arreguin adopted father, Orvil Champeau in 2000

Joaquin leaves behind: His family in Lexington, Jean Champeau and Louise Higginbotham and her family. His siblings, Jose Saul Giron Arreguin Javier Giron Arreguin Enedino Giron Arreguin Marielena Giron Arreguin Flora Giron Arreguin Angelica Giron Arreguin Adela Giron Arreguin Ofelia Giron Arreguin Cenorina Giron Arreguin Many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 30, 2015, at the Heartland Baptist Church in Purcell. Interment will be at the Lexington Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
